Monitoring for airborne dust in the workplace helps in the understanding of worker exposures and potential for adverse health effects. Pneumoconiosis is a lung disease caused by the inhalation of dusts that are deposited deep in the lungs causing damage.
Monitoring for airborne RCS will help ensure workers are protected and legislative requirements are met. Silicosis is a lung disease caused by inhaling unsafe levels of silica dust, usually over a period of many years.
Fit testing ensures that tight-fitting respirators worn in the workplace are providing the required level of protection. This is done by measuring the effectiveness of the seal between the respirator and the wearer’s face.
